Krakow Old Town & Wawel Castle Guided Tour

A great way to see and learn about this wonderful city

A great way to experience and learn about the history of not only Krakow, but Poland the country. Firstly let me say that our guide was very accommodating, as our flight was late and he changed our personal tour from a Thursday to a Saturday morning at the last minute. Krzysztof was extremely knowledgeable about Krakow, he grew up there, and gave us some context re the city and Poland the country, before we set off. He guided us around various parts of the city, into Wawel castle, various historical buildings and discussed their history and often their relevance to Polish culture. He was an excellent guide, friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions on all sorts of topics. We sat and had a break at the castle, with him, where he told us more about himself and how he became a professional guide. He showed us some decent shops and mentioned good restaurants and cafes to eat and drink in. After a lovely walk (the whole trip was about 3.5 hours) he left us in a beautiful restaurant/ bar, which was the first cabaret bar to be built in Krakow in the early 20th century. It must said that this is a walking tour lasting more than three hours, so this should be understood, and in the summer months, the temperature can get up to more than 25C. That being said, it was conducted at a gentle pace, there were many stops to take in the historic building and architecture and our group of three friends thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about this beautiful city.
