Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Podzamcze. From the center of Silesia, take the A4 motorway towards Katowice. Exit at the junction for S1 towards Częstochowa and continue on S1 until you reach the exit for Zawiercie. Follow local roads (DK78) towards Podzamcze. Once in Podzamcze, follow signs for 'Zamek na Górze Birów' to reach Partyzantów 9, where the castle is located. There is usually free parking available near the site.
Public Transportation
To reach the Castle on the Mount Birów using public transport, start by taking a train from major cities in Silesia, such as Katowice or Wrocław, to Zawiercie. From Zawiercie, take a local bus (line 30 or 31) heading towards Podzamcze. Disembark at the 'Podzamcze' bus stop. From there, it’s a short walk (approximately 1 km) to the castle. Keep in mind that bus tickets cost around 4-10 PLN depending on the distance, and train tickets will vary based on your starting point.
Walking
If you arrive at the Podzamcze bus stop, proceed on foot towards the castle. Head northwest on Partyzantów Street, which is well-marked. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes. You will see the castle's towers from a distance, guiding you towards the entrance.
