Unearthing History at Rynek Underground Museum

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Kraków from Spisz. Use the A4 highway and follow the signs for Kraków. Upon reaching the city, take the exit toward Centrum and follow the signs to the Old Town (Stare Miasto). Once in the Old Town, look for Rynek Główny (Main Square), and you will find the Rynek Underground Museum located directly beneath the square at Rynek Główny 1. Parking is available nearby, but it may incur costs. Be prepared to pay for parking fees that can range from 3 to 5 PLN per hour.

• Public Transportation

  Take a bus or train from Spisz to Kraków. The bus service is often more direct, with routes running regularly from various towns in Spisz to Kraków. Once you arrive at the bus or train station in Kraków, head towards the Old Town. You can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or take a tram to the nearest stop to the Main Square. Look for trams that go to 'Teatr Bagatela' or 'Muzeum Narodowe'. Upon reaching the Old Town, follow the signs to Rynek Główny, where the Rynek Underground Museum is located at Rynek Główny 1. Tram fares are usually around 4-5 PLN for a single trip.

• Walking

  If you find yourself in the vicinity of the Old Town area in Kraków after arriving from Spisz, you can walk to Rynek Underground Museum. From any point in the Old Town, simply follow signs towards Rynek Główny (Main Square). The museum entrance is located at Rynek Główny 1, directly beneath the square. The area is pedestrian-friendly, and you can easily navigate through the charming cobblestone streets.
