Getting there

Car

If you're driving, start from Zakopane, a central location in the Tatra Mountains. Head southeast on ul. Krupówki, then take a left onto ul. Piłsudskiego. Merge onto the S7 expressway towards Kraków. After approximately 5 km, take the exit towards Zakopane, and follow the signs for 'Głaz Sfinks'. You will find parking areas near the trailhead. Note that parking may incur a fee, usually around 10 PLN per day.

Public Transportation

To reach Głaz Sfinks using public transport, take a bus from Zakopane to 'Kuźnice', which is the nearest stop to the trailhead. The bus ride typically takes about 15-20 minutes and costs around 5 PLN. From 'Kuźnice', follow the marked hiking trails (look for the red trail signs) that will lead you directly to Głaz Sfinks. The hike will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace.

Hiking

Once you arrive at the trailhead from either driving or taking public transport, you will begin your hike. Follow the red-marked trail (Szlak pieszy czerwony) which is well-maintained and clearly marked. The hike to Głaz Sfinks is moderate in difficulty, so wear appropriate footwear and carry water. Along the way, enjoy the stunning Tatra scenery. After approximately 1-1.5 hours of hiking, you will reach the Głaz Sfinks, a large rock formation that is a popular spot for photos and rest.
