Travel Guide to Czorsztyn Castle

Getting There

• Bus

  From Zakopane, head to the main bus station located at ul. Kościuszki 12. You can catch a bus to Czorsztyn from here. Look for the bus heading to 'Czorsztyn' or 'Niedzica'. Buses typically run every 30-60 minutes. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Czorsztyn bus stop, walk in the direction of the castle. Follow the signs leading you to Zamkowa street.

• Train and Bus Combination

  First, take a local bus from Zakopane to Nowy Targ. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station. Once in Nowy Targ, transfer to a bus heading to Czorsztyn. The ride from Nowy Targ to Czorsztyn takes approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the Czorsztyn bus stop and walk towards Zamkowa street, where the castle is located.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Zakopane. Head towards the scenic bike paths leading out of the city. Follow the path along the Dunajec River, which will take you to Czorsztyn. The ride is about 25 kilometers and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you have a map or a navigation app to guide you along the correct route.

• Walking Tour

  For the more adventurous, consider a long walking tour. Start at the Zakopane city center and make your way towards the village of Czorsztyn. This is a challenging trek of approximately 20 kilometers and could take around 5-6 hours. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the Tatra Mountains and the surrounding countryside. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks.
