Car
If you are driving from Lagos, take the N125 road towards Portimão. After approximately 20 km, take the exit towards Portimão/Ferragudo. Continue on the N124 road, following signs to Ferragudo. Once in Ferragudo, follow the signs towards the beach (Praia da Angrinha). From there, you can park at the beach parking area and walk towards the lighthouse (Farol da Ponta do Altar) which is a short 10-minute walk along the coastal path.
Public Transportation
To reach Farol da Ponta do Altar by public transport, take the train from Lagos to Portimão. From the Portimão train station, you can catch a bus (Line 12 or Line 23) heading to Ferragudo. Once you arrive in Ferragudo, walk towards the beach (Praia da Angrinha). The lighthouse is a scenic 10-minute walk along the coast from there.
Car
If you are coming from Albufeira, take the A22 motorway heading west. Exit at junction 6 for Portimão and follow the N124 road towards Ferragudo. Once in Ferragudo, follow the signs to Praia da Angrinha. Park at the beach parking lot, and then enjoy a 10-minute walk along the water to reach Farol da Ponta do Altar.
Public Transportation
From Faro, take a train to Portimão. Upon arrival, transfer to a local bus that goes to Ferragudo. When you get off the bus in Ferragudo, head towards Praia da Angrinha. The lighthouse is about a 10-minute walk from the beach, following the coastal path.
