Car
If you're driving from Faro, take the A22 motorway heading west. Exit at junction 6 towards Silves. Follow the signs for Silves and merge onto the N124 road. Continue straight until you reach the town center. Once in Silves, follow signs for 'Castelo' and park nearby. Note that there are several parking areas available, but they may charge a fee.
Public Transportation
From Faro, take a train from Faro Train Station to Silves. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Upon arriving at Silves train station, exit and look for the local bus services or consider taking a taxi to the castle. Buses to the city center are available, usually running every 30 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the town center, from where you can easily walk to the castle (about a 15-minute walk).
Taxi
If you prefer a direct route from your location in Algarve, you can hire a taxi. Simply ask the driver to take you to 'Castelo de Silves' located at R. do Castelo, 8300-135 Silves. This option may be more expensive, typically costing around €30-€50 depending on your starting location.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous traveler, consider renting a bicycle in the Algarve. There are several bike rental shops in towns like Lagos or Albufeira. Follow the N124 road towards Silves, which is relatively flat and scenic. Upon reaching Silves, park your bicycle at designated bike racks near the castle entrance.
