If you're driving, start from Ponta Delgada, the largest city in São Miguel. Head northwest on Av. Infante Dom Henrique towards R. da Liberdade. Continue straight onto EN1-1A. Follow this road for about 30 km. Look for signs indicating 'Floresta Reserva' or 'Retort Water Playground'. The entrance will be on your right. There is free parking available on-site.

From Ponta Delgada, take the bus from the main bus station (Estação de Autocarros) to Ribeira Grande. Buses typically run every hour. Once in Ribeira Grande, you can either take a taxi (which may cost around €15-20) or check if there are local shuttle services directly to the Forest Reserve. If public transport is limited, consider booking a taxi in advance.
