Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Ponta Delgada, the largest city in São Miguel. Head north on the EN1-1A road for about 10 km. Follow the signs for Capelas. As you approach Capelas, take a left onto the ER1-1A road, which leads you directly towards the coast. After approximately 4 km, you will see a sign for Miradouro da Vigia. Turn right and follow the winding road until you arrive at the lookout point. Parking is available on-site, and there is no fee.

Public Transportation
To reach Miradouro da Vigia using public transportation, take a bus from Ponta Delgada to Capelas. The bus service is operated by SMTUC, so check their schedule for the latest departure times. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Capelas, you will need to walk to the lookout point. Head towards the coastline and follow the signs for Miradouro da Vigia, which is about a 2 km walk. Be prepared for some uphill walking, and ensure you wear comfortable shoes. Note that there may not be frequent bus services, so plan your return trip accordingly.
