Car
From any location in Beira Baixa, drive towards the town of Oliveira do Hospital. Use the A25 motorway if coming from the east, or follow the N2 road from the west. Once you reach Oliveira do Hospital, follow signs directing you towards the Serra do Açor Protected Landscape. Continue on the N231 until you see signs for Mata da Margaraça. You will find parking available near the entrance to the park.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from major towns in Beira Baixa, such as Castelo Branco or Covilhã, heading towards Oliveira do Hospital. The bus service is operated by Rede Expressos or local transport services. Upon arriving in Oliveira do Hospital, you may need to take a taxi to reach Mata da Margaraça, as public transport options may be limited. Taxi services are available at the bus station, and the ride to the park should take about 15-20 minutes.
Walking
If you are already in Oliveira do Hospital, you can walk to Mata da Margaraça. Head towards the N231 road and follow the signs for the Serra do Açor Protected Landscape. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and will take around 1 hour. Ensure you have proper hiking shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
