Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the A1 highway, which is the main route connecting Lisbon to Porto. From Lisbon, head north on the A1. When you reach the junction for the A23, take the exit toward Covilhã and follow the signs for the A23. Continue on the A23 for approximately 80 km until you reach the exit for the N348 toward Oleiros. Follow the N348 for about 20 km until you see signs for Álvaro. The total driving time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Lisbon, depending on traffic conditions.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Álvaro by public transportation, take a train from Lisbon to Covilhã. The train departs from Lisbon's Santa Apolónia or Oriente stations and takes about 3 hours. Once in Covilhã, transfer to a local bus to Oleiros. The bus service is relatively frequent, but be sure to check the schedule in advance as it may vary. After arriving in Oleiros, you can catch a taxi to Álvaro, which is approximately 15 km away. The total travel time can be around 4 to 5 hours depending on transfer waiting times.

  If you prefer a more direct route upon arriving in Oleiros, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing service to get to Álvaro.
