Getting There

Train
From Cascais, head to the Cascais Train Station, which is located in the center of town. Purchase a ticket to Lisbon. Trains run frequently, approximately every 20 minutes. Once aboard, enjoy the scenic views during the 30-minute journey to Cais do Sodré station in Lisbon. Upon arrival at Cais do Sodré, exit the train station and walk towards the river. Follow the signs to the Praça do Comércio, a large square facing the Tagus River.

Metro
After reaching Cais do Sodré, take the metro from Cais do Sodré station. Board the Green Line (Linha Verde) towards Telheiras. Travel two stops and get off at Rossio station. From Rossio, exit the station and walk towards Praça da Figueira. Continue straight until you reach Largo do Carmo, where the Carmo Archaeological Museum is located.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, after exiting Cais do Sodré station, head towards Praça do Comércio. Walk through the square and follow the main street, Rua da Prata, until you reach Rossio square. From Rossio, you can take Rua do Carmo, which will lead you directly to Largo do Carmo. The museum will be on your left as you approach the square.

Another option is to take a bus from Cascais to Lisbon. Head to the bus station in Cascais and take the Scotturb bus number 403 towards Lisbon. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Lisbon (Campo de Ourique), you can take the metro from Rato station (a short walk from the bus terminal) on the Yellow Line towards Odivelas. Transfer at the Rossio station to the Green Line towards Cais do Sodré and follow the previous walking directions.
