The Enchanting Fonte dos Pisões: A Hidden Gem in Sintra

Getting There

• Train

  From Cascais, head to the Cascais Train Station, which is located near the center of town. Purchase a ticket to Sintra, which is a popular tourist destination. The train journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sintra Station, exit the station and turn left onto Avenida da Liberdade. Walk straight until you reach the main road, then take a right onto Rua da Ferraria. Continue walking until you see signs for Fonte dos Pisões, which is about a 20-minute walk from the station.

• Bus

  From Cascais, you can take the Scotturb bus line 403 towards Sintra. Board the bus at the Cascais bus terminal. The journey lasts about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sintra, get off at the Sintra center stop. From there, follow the signs for Fonte dos Pisões. It is about a 25-minute walk uphill from the center of Sintra. Make sure to follow the signs pointing towards the park area.

  If you are already in Sintra, locate the Sintra center. From there, head towards the Palácio Nacional de Sintra (National Palace). From the palace, walk up towards the gardens, following the signs for Fonte dos Pisões. The journey will take around 30 minutes on foot, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.
