Santo Amaro Chapel: A Serene Gem in the Heart of Lisbon

Getting There

• Train

  Start from the Cascais train station, which is located in the center of Cascais. Purchase a ticket to Lisbon. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule upon arrival. Once on the train, enjoy the scenic ride along the coast, which takes about 40 minutes. When you arrive at Cais do Sodré station in Lisbon, exit the train and follow the signs for the main exit.

  After exiting Cais do Sodré station, head to the bus stop located just outside the station. Look for the bus number 728, which heads towards the area of Santo Amaro. Board the bus, and enjoy a short ride. Get off at the stop called 'Cais do Sodré' and transfer to tram number 15, which goes towards Algés. Ride the tram for a few stops until you reach the 'Santa Apolónia' tram stop. From there, it's a short walk to Calçada Santo Amaro 21.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from Cais do Sodré station, leave the station and head towards the river. Walk along the waterfront promenade, enjoying the views of the Tagus River. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the area around Santo Amaro. You will see signs directing you to Calçada Santo Amaro 21, where the Santo Amaro Chapel is located.

• Taxi/ride-sharing

  If you're looking for a more direct route, you can use a taxi or ride-sharing service from Cascais to the Santo Amaro Chapel. Simply provide the driver with the address Calçada Santo Amaro 21, 1300-515 Lisboa. The journey will take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
