Walking
Start at the Chaves Castle, which is located in the center of Chaves. Head southeast on Rua da Trindade towards Rua da Boavista. After about 200 meters, turn left onto Rua de São Sebastião. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach the junction with Rua de Oliveira. Turn right and walk for another 150 meters, then take a left onto Largo Gen. Silveira. The Monumento Nome Chaves will be on your left at Largo Gen. Silveira 9, 5400-516 Chaves.
Public Transport
If you are near the Chaves bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Chaves), take bus line 1 towards 'Chaves Centro'. Get off at the 'Centro' stop. From there, it's a short walk. Head northeast on Avenida 5 de Outubro, then take a right onto Rua dos Pioneiros. Continue straight until you reach Largo Gen. Silveira. The Monumento Nome Chaves will be on your right.
Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start from the Chaves Thermal Spa (Termas de Chaves). Ride north on Avenida 5 de Outubro. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer, enjoying the scenery of the river. When you reach the roundabout, take the exit onto Rua da Trindade. After about 400 meters, turn left onto Rua de São Sebastião and continue until you reach Largo Gen. Silveira where the Monumento Nome Chaves is located.
