Walking
Start at the Chaves city center, specifically the Praça de Camoes. From the square, head southeast towards Rua da Trindade. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua do Comércio. Turn left onto Rua do Comércio and walk until you reach the end of the street. At the end, turn right onto Avenida 1º de Maio. Follow this avenue until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto N103 towards Vila Real. As you walk along this road, keep an eye out for signposts indicating Castelões. After about 2 kilometers, you will see a path leading to Castelões on your left. Follow the path directly to the landmark.
Bicycle
Begin at the Chaves city center, renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start on Avenida 1º de Maio and head out of the city towards the N103 road. Follow the bike lane along the N103, which will take you through scenic views. After approximately 2 kilometers, look for a sign indicating a left turn for Castelões. Turn onto this path and continue to follow the signs until you reach the destination.
Public Transport
From the Chaves bus station, take a local bus heading towards Vila Real. Ensure you check the schedule for the bus that stops at Castelões. The journey should take around 15 minutes. Get off at the Castelões stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the direction indicated by the signs for the historical landmark, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
