Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the historic center of Guimarães, near the Praça de São Tiago. Head southeast on Rua de São Tiago towards Rua do Arco. Continue straight until you reach Largo da Oliveira. From there, take the exit onto the Rua de Santa Maria. Keep walking straight until you reach the Estação de Guimarães (Guimarães Station). At the station, take the train towards Porto. Once you arrive at Porto Campanhã Station, transfer to the Metro Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at Matosinhos Station, then transfer to Metro Line B (Red Line) towards Póvoa de Varzim and get off at Casa da Música Station. Finally, take Metro Line D (Yellow Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos and get off at the last stop, which is the nearest to Praia dos Ingleses. The beach is a short walk from the station.

  • Public Transport

    From the central bus station in Guimarães (Terminal Rodoviário), take the bus to Porto. The bus will drop you off at the Campo 24 de Agosto bus station in Porto. From there, walk to the nearby Metro station and take Metro Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at Matosinhos Station, and then switch to Metro Line D (Yellow Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at the last stop, and from there, it’s a short walk to Praia dos Ingleses.
