Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Vila Real, start at the main square, Praça da República. From there, head east on Rua do Comércio until you reach the intersection with Rua da Alegria. Turn left onto Rua da Alegria and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenida 10 de Junho. Continue on this avenue, passing the local shops and cafes. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will see signs for the Centro Interpretativo do Vale do Tua. The museum is located at Estação Ferroviária, 5140-133, which is on your left. The walk will take approximately 20-25 minutes.

• Public Transport

  If you prefer to use public transport, head to the nearest bus stop in Vila Real. Take the bus that goes towards Castanheiro; make sure to check the schedules as they can vary. Once you board the bus, pay attention to the stops. You will want to get off at the Castanheiro stop, which is closest to the Centro Interpretativo do Vale do Tua. After disembarking, walk a short distance towards the Estação Ferroviária, where the museum is located. The entire journey, including waiting time and travel, should take about 30-40 minutes.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Vila Real. Start your ride from the city center and head towards Avenida 10 de Junho, following the same path as if you were walking. There are bike lanes available along the main roads. The ride should take you approximately 10-15 minutes, and you can park your bicycle near the entrance of the Centro Interpretativo do Vale do Tua.
