Simply the best, just like our guide Bruno

This is a truly magnificent tour, made all the more special by our outstanding guide, Bruno. Bruno’s knowledge, enthusiasm, professionalism, courtesy & care for every individual on the tour was second to none. Bruno, thank you for everything you did to make this an extra special tour. The trip started with an early morning pick up & a wonderful drive across the Douro Valley, with amazing views. A quick pit stop in a local cafe was welcomed by all. Of to Pinhao for a beautiful one hour cruise along the Douro, with a refreshing glass of wine. A quiz challenge delivered by Bruno was much fun. From here it was our first vineyard tour & wine tasting at a major Port producer, which included very large measure of white, tawny & ruby port along with a variety of olive oils. Back in the minibus for a cracking journey to the top of the valley for a decent lunch with copious amounts of wine, which included a birthday cake for my partner who was obviously celebrating her day. In the minibus again, back down the valley to a smaller local vineyard owned a managed by an aging but enthusiastic Caesar (boy could he talk for Portugal!😊). Anna also provided much welcome information when she managed to get a word in. Here we had copious amounts of local white & red wine accompanied by tasty olive oil, bread & port jam. This was followed by tasting two local ports. We had a great international group of people that accompanied us on the trip, couples from Melbourne, Texas & Boston. And finally back in the minibus for the trip back to the apartment. This part was equally as good as the rest of the trip as Bruno passed his phone around so that we could all pick our favourite song for a good old singalong all the way back. And each couple was given a bottle of Douro wine. What an amazing tour.
