Private Tour - African History in Lisbon
Amazing African History Tour
Filipa was an excellent tour guide. We learned a great deal about the history of Africans in Portugal. She also shared a lot about the culture and way of life in Portugal. We especially enjoyed our coffee break with the custard pies - delicious.

Half-Day Walking Tour about the African Presence in Lisbon
A memorable and moving experience
This was such a memorable and moving tour. Portugal had a long Moorish history, played a central role in the African slave trade, and was responsible for creating the concept of race & the superiority of white Europeans. Lisbon was at the heart of this. Our excellent guide, Alcides, shared the story in an accessible and at times emotional way as we walked through the old city of Lisbon and down to the waterfront. He did so with grace, good humor, and a real depth of knowledge. Can't recommend the tour more highly.
