If you are starting from the Évora Cathedral, head south on Rua 5 de Outubro towards Praça do Giraldo. Continue straight until you reach Praça do Giraldo. From there, turn right onto Avenida de São Sebastião. Walk straight until you reach Rua de Avis, then turn left. Continue along this road until you reach Praça 1º de Maio, where the Mercado Municipal 1º de Maio will be located at number 28 on your right.

From the Évora University, exit the university and head towards Rua de Serpa Pinto. Turn left on Rua de Serpa Pinto and continue until you reach Rua do Comércio. Turn right and walk straight until you reach Praça do Giraldo. From Praça do Giraldo, follow the previous directions to Praça 1º de Maio.

If you are at the main bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Évora), exit the station and walk towards Rua da Liberdade. From there, take any bus that heads towards the city center. Get off at the Praça do Giraldo stop. From Praça do Giraldo, follow the walking directions provided earlier to reach Mercado Municipal 1º de Maio.
