Walking
From the center of Guimarães (e.g., Praça da Oliveira), head east on Rua de Santo António towards Rua de São Francisco. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Avenida de Dom Afonso Henriques. Turn left and follow this avenue as it leads you out of the medieval center. When you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenida da Liberdade. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the train station, Estação de Guimarães. From there, you can take a train to Porto. Board the train that goes to Porto São Bento, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Porto, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located outside the station. Take the bus number 500 towards 'Praça da Ribeira' and get off at 'Praça de Gonçalves Zarco'. The Castelo do Queijo is located a short walk from the bus stop.

Begin your journey at Guimarães' main bus terminal (Terminal Rodoviário de Guimarães). Look for the bus service heading to Porto. The journey should take around 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus station in Porto, exit the terminal and look for the metro station 'Bolhão' nearby. Take the metro line D (Yellow Line) towards 'Senhor de Matosinhos'. After 5 stops, disembark at 'Casa da Música'. From there, transfer to bus number 500 towards 'Praça da Ribeira' and get off at 'Praça de Gonçalves Zarco'. The destination, Castelo do Queijo, is a short walk from there.
