Getting There

Walking
From the center of Guimarães, start at the Praça da Oliveira. Head west on Rua de São Mamede, passing by the Igreja de São Mamede. Continue straight until you reach the traffic circle at Largo do Toural. Take the second exit onto Avenida de Conde Margaride. Walk straight until you reach the train station, Estação de Guimarães. From the station, you will need to take a train to Porto. Board a train heading to Porto São Bento station, which should take about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at São Bento station, exit and turn left onto Avenida dos Aliados. Walk straight until you reach the end of the avenue, where you will see the majestic Ponte Luís I (Luís I Bridge) across the Douro River.

From Guimarães, navigate to the bus terminal at Terminal Rodoviário de Guimarães. Board a bus heading to Porto. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Porto, walk towards the metro station 'Campo 24 de Agosto'. Take the metro Line D (Yellow Line) towards Santo Ovídio and get off at the 'São Bento' station. Exit the station and walk west on Avenida dos Aliados, following the same route as if you had walked from the train station.
