Walking
From the center of Guimarães, start at the Praça de Santiago. Walk towards the Rua de Camoes and head southwest. Continue straight until you reach the bus station, 'Terminal Rodoviário de Guimarães'. From there, take the bus heading to 'Póvoa de Varzim'. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at 'Póvoa de Varzim', exit the bus and head towards the beach area. Follow the signs for 'Praia Redonda', which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. You will walk along the waterfront, enjoying the ocean view.
Public Transport
Start at the Guimarães train station. Take a train to 'Póvoa de Varzim', which usually requires a change at 'Caldas de Vizela'. After approximately 45 minutes, you will arrive at 'Póvoa de Varzim'. From the train station, walk towards the main road and catch a local bus that goes to the beach area. Get off at the 'Praia Redonda' bus stop, which is just a short walk from the beach.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Guimarães. Head out of the city towards the 'Estrada Nacional 206'. Follow this road, which will lead you directly to Póvoa de Varzim. After approximately 15 km, you will reach the coastal area. Once you arrive in Póvoa de Varzim, follow the signs to 'Praia Redonda', which is easily accessible by bike and will take about 10 minutes from the city center.
