Metro
Start by taking the Metro from your nearest station to the Cais do Sodré station. From Cais do Sodré, take the Green Line towards Telheiras and get off at the Baixa-Chiado station. Here, transfer to the Blue Line and head towards Amadora Este. Get off at the Santa Apolónia station. Once at Santa Apolónia, exit the station and walk towards the riverfront. From there, you can catch the ferry at the Cais do Sodré ferry terminal to Almada. The ferry ride will take about 10 minutes. When you arrive at the Almada ferry terminal, you can either walk or take a bus to Alameda do Castelo, which is approximately a 15-minute walk uphill.
Bus
From your current location in Lisbon, make your way to the nearest bus stop. Look for buses that head towards Almada, such as the 101 or 106 routes. These buses will take you directly across the 25 de Abril Bridge to Almada. After you arrive at Almada, get off at the Alameda stop. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Alameda do Castelo, which involves heading uphill towards the castle.
Ferry
Make your way to the Cais do Sodré ferry terminal in Lisbon. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Almada. The ferry will take around 10 minutes to cross the Tagus River. Once you arrive in Almada, exit the ferry terminal and follow the signs to the bus stops. Take bus number 101 or 106 towards Almada Centro and get off at the Alameda stop. From there, it's a short walk uphill to Alameda do Castelo.
Walking
If you are already in Almada, you can reach Alameda do Castelo by walking. Depending on your starting point, head towards the center of Almada and follow signs to Alameda do Castelo. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes and will involve some uphill walking. Make sure to enjoy the beautiful views of Lisbon along the way!
