If you are driving, head towards Funchal. From the center of Funchal, follow signs for São Martinho. You will want to take Avenida do Mar e das Comunidades Madeirenses (VR1) heading west. Follow the road until you reach the exit for Estrada Monumental. Continue on Estrada Monumental until you reach the intersection with Rua da Alegria. Turn left onto Rua da Alegria, and you will soon see the São Martinho parish church on your right. There is limited street parking available nearby, so be prepared to park a short walk away.

To reach São Martinho parish church via public transport, take the bus number 1 or 2 from the Funchal city center (Avenida do Mar). These buses run frequently throughout the day. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Escola São Martinho' which is a short walk from the church. From the bus stop, walk down Rua da Alegria, and you will find the church on your left. A single ticket on the bus will cost approximately €2.00.
