If you are driving from Funchal, head west on the VR1 motorway towards Câmara de Lobos. Continue on the VR1 for about 10 km. Take the exit for Câmara de Lobos and continue straight until you reach the town. Once in Câmara de Lobos, follow the signs for Cabo Girão. The road will take you uphill and you will see signs directing you to the viewpoint. There is parking available near the Miradouro do Cabo Girão.

To reach Cabo Girão using public transport, take the number 7 bus from Funchal to Câmara de Lobos. The bus departs from the Funchal bus station and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Câmara de Lobos, you will need to transfer to the 31 or 32 bus, which will take you directly to Cabo Girão. The buses run approximately every 30 minutes. After disembarking, follow the signs to the viewpoint, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
