Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the historic center of Guimarães, head towards the Praça de São Tiago. From there, take the Rua de Santa Maria which leads to the Largo da Oliveira. Walk straight through the Largo da Oliveira and continue on the Rua do Mercado until you reach the Praça do Toural. Once at the Praça do Toural, look for the Rua de São Gonçalo. Walk up this street, and after a few minutes, you will find yourself at the bus station. From the bus station, take a bus heading to Porto. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Porto, head towards the Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, which is a short walk away from the bus stop.

• Public Transport

  From the center of Guimarães, walk to the Guimarães train station located at Av. Dom Afonso Henriques. Purchase a ticket for Porto (Campanhã station). The train ride takes about 25 minutes. After arriving at Campanhã station in Porto, transfer to the metro by following the signs to the Metro Line. Take the metro towards Estádio do Dragão and get off at the next stop, which is Campo 24 de Agosto. Exit the metro and walk straight towards Rua de Passos Manuel. Continue walking until you reach the Campo dos Mártires da Pátria.

  If you prefer a quicker route, you can use a taxi or ride-sharing service like Uber. Simply request a ride from your current location in Guimarães to Campo dos Mártires da Pátria in Porto. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. This option is ideal if you are traveling with luggage or in a group.
