Car
If you're driving from Braga, take the A11 motorway towards Guimarães. After approximately 25 km, take the exit for Guimarães. Follow the signs for Guimarães city center. Once in the city, follow Rua de São Vicente and then turn left onto R. Conde Dom Henrique, where you will find Guimarães Castle at approximately this address: R. Conde Dom Henrique, 4800-412 Guimarães. Parking is available nearby but may incur a fee.
Public Transportation - Bus
From Braga, take the bus service operated by Rede Expressos or another local bus company directly to Guimarães. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Guimarães bus station, exit the station and walk towards the city center, which is about a 15-minute walk. Head down Av. Dom João IV, and then take a left onto R. Conde Dom Henrique to reach Guimarães Castle.
Public Transportation - Train
You can also take a train from Braga to Guimarães. The train ride takes approximately 40 minutes. After arriving at Guimarães train station, exit and walk straight along the main road until you reach the city center. This walk takes about 20 minutes. Once in the center, follow R. Conde Dom Henrique to reach Guimarães Castle.
