From the Guimarães train station (Estação de Guimarães), head southeast on Rua de Dom Afonso Henriques. Continue straight for about 700 meters until you reach Praça de São Tiago, a small square. Turn left onto Rua de São Tiago and walk for approximately 300 meters until you reach the main square, Praça da Oliveira. From here, walk straight towards Largo do Toural, where you will find the beautiful gardens. Continue walking straight for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenida de Conde Margaride. Cross the avenue and proceed straight onto Rua de Sousa Oliveira. After about 200 meters, you will arrive at Praça Dom João I, a historic square in Porto, known for its stunning architecture and lively atmosphere.

Start at the Guimarães train station (Estação de Guimarães). Take the bus number 1 from the bus stop outside the station heading towards Centro. The ride takes about 10 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Avenida da Liberdade / Praça da República'. From the bus stop, walk straight down Avenida da Liberdade until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua de Passos Manuel, which will lead you directly to Praça Dom João I. This square is well-known for its historical significance and lively ambiance.
