Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Nazaré. Head west on Avenida da República toward Rua do Mercado. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach Estrada do Farol. Turn left onto Estrada do Farol and follow the road for about 2 km. You will see signs for Big Wave Viewpoint. There is a parking area near the viewpoint, which is free of charge.
Public Transportation
To reach Big Wave Viewpoint using public transportation, take the local bus from Nazaré bus station. Look for buses heading towards Praia do Norte or the lighthouse. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Estrada do Farol. From there, it's a short walk (about 10-15 minutes) up the hill to the viewpoint. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for the latest departure times.
Walking (if already nearby)
If you are close to the beach or the center of Nazaré, you can walk to the Big Wave Viewpoint. Start by heading northwest toward the beach. Walk along the promenade until you reach the end, then follow the signs leading to Estrada do Farol. The walk is about 3 km and takes roughly 40-50 minutes. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the path includes some uphill sections.
