From the center of Ponte de Lima, start at the main square, Praça da República. Head south on Rua 1º de Maio towards the bridge, Ponte de Lima. Cross the bridge and continue straight on the road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto N202. Walk straight for about 1 km. You will see signs for Castelo de Monterreal. Follow the signs and take the path leading up to the castle.
