Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the center of Ponte de Lima, make your way to the main square, Praça da República. Face the Igreja Matriz (the main church). From there, head towards the Ponte Romana (the Roman Bridge). Cross the bridge and continue straight along the road. After approximately 1 km, you will reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto N201. Continue along N201 for about 6 km. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to Monção. Upon reaching Monção, the Museu do Alvarinho is located at Praça Deu-La-Deu 9, which is a short walk from the center of the town.

  • Bus

    From Ponte de Lima, walk to the bus station located at Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra. Purchase a ticket for Monção. The bus service is relatively frequent. Once you arrive at Monção bus station, exit and walk towards Praça Deu-La-Deu. The museum is about a 10-minute walk from the bus station, located at Praça Deu-La-Deu 9.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Ponte de Lima. Start at the town center and head towards the Roman Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the same route as the walking directions.
