Getting There

  • Walking

    From Ponte de Lima, head towards the main square, Largo de Camões. Once you reach the square, look for the signs indicating the direction to Guimaraes. You will need to head southeast on Rua da Estrada, which will lead you out of the town center. Follow this road for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with the N101. At the intersection, turn left onto N101 and continue walking for approximately 2 kilometers. Along the N101, you will see signs for Guimaraes. Keep following the road until you reach the bus stop for Guimaraes.

    After reaching the bus stop on N101, look for a bus heading to Guimaraes. The buses are frequent, but it's a good idea to check the schedule at the bus stop or ask a local for the next departure. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride to Guimaraes, which should take about 30-40 minutes. The bus will drop you off at the Guimaraes bus station, which is centrally located.
