  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the village of Loriga, which is the nearest major settlement to Lagoa das Salgadeiras. From Loriga, follow the signs towards the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. Take the N231 road, which leads you towards the mountain area. After approximately 4 km, turn onto the dirt road that leads to the Lagoa das Salgadeiras. The road can be rough in certain sections, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. Parking is available near the lagoon.

  To reach Lagoa das Salgadeiras using public transportation, first take a bus to Loriga from major cities like Covilhã or Seia. The bus ride will take about 30-45 minutes, depending on your departure location. Once you arrive in Loriga, you can ask locals for directions to the trailhead leading to Lagoa das Salgadeiras. The walk from Loriga to the lagoon is approximately 6 km and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to wear suitable hiking shoes and bring water, as the path can be steep and uneven.
