Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the city of Covilhã. Take the N339 road heading towards Serra da Estrela. After approximately 25 km, follow the signs for Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal. Continue on this route until you reach the intersection with the N232 road. Merge onto N232 towards Loriga. As you approach Loriga, follow the signs to Serra da Estrela Nature Park. Turfeira da Serra is located within the park, just a short drive from the village of Loriga. Look for parking areas near Lagoa da, which is close to your destination.
Public Transportation
To reach Turfeira da Serra via public transportation, take a bus from major cities like Covilhã or Guarda to Loriga. The bus services are operated by Rede Expressos or local providers. Once you arrive in Loriga, you can either walk or take a taxi to Serra da Estrela Nature Park. The walk to the park is about 3 km, so be prepared for a scenic hike. If you prefer a taxi, it may cost around €5 to €10 depending on the distance to Lagoa da, where Turfeira da Serra is located.
Hiking
