Getting There
Bus
Start at the Setúbal bus terminal located at Avenida da Liberdade. Look for the bus heading to 'Praia de Galápos' or 'Praia dos Galápos'. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Galápos stop, walk towards the beach area, following the signs that lead you to Galapinhos Beach, which is about a 10-minute walk downhill from the bus stop.
Taxi
You can hail a taxi from various locations around Setúbal. Ask the driver to take you to Galapinhos Beach. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic and will bring you directly to the beach area. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your trip.
Walking
If you are near the Setúbal waterfront, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Galapinhos Beach. Start at the waterfront promenade (Cais 1 de Maio) and head southeast towards Rua da Liberdade. Continue onto Avenida da Liberdade. After about 1.5 kilometers, turn left onto the path leading to the beach area. This walk will take approximately 45-60 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental stations in Setúbal. From the city center, head towards Avenida da Liberdade and follow the bike lanes toward the coast. Continue on the designated cycling paths that lead to Praia de Galápos and follow the signs to Galapinhos Beach. The ride should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace.
