From Setúbal city center, head to the Setúbal bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal). Look for buses heading to Lisbon. The bus ride will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the Lisbon bus terminal (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal), exit and head towards the nearest metro station.

From the Lisbon bus terminal, walk to the nearest metro station (Campo Pequeno Station). Take the Yellow Line (Linha Amarela) towards Rato. After 6 stops, get off at Rossio Station. From Rossio, exit and walk towards Praça Afonso de Albuquerque, which is around a 15-minute walk. Follow signs for the National Theatre D. Maria II, and then continue straight towards the square.

After arriving at Rossio Station, you can also take Tram 28. Board the tram at the nearest stop (Praça do Comércio stop). Ride the tram for about 10 minutes. Get off at the 'Praça Afonso de Albuquerque' stop, which is right next to the cultural landmark.
