Walking
If you are starting from the Sintra train station, exit the station and head straight onto Avenida Dr. Alfredo da Costa. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Rua dos Três Reinos. Turn left onto Rua dos Três Reinos and continue until you reach the end of the street. Here, you will see the beautiful gardens of the Parque da Liberdade. Walk through the park, keeping the gardens on your right. As you exit the park, you will find yourself on Praça da República, a lovely square surrounded by cafes and shops.

If you are starting from the historic center of Sintra (near the National Palace), make your way down Rua das Padarias towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn right onto Avenida Dr. Miguel Bombarda. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua João de Deus. Turn left onto Rua João de Deus, and keep walking straight. You will eventually arrive at Praça da República, where you can enjoy the local atmosphere and surrounding attractions.

Once you reach the main road, turn left and continue walking until you see the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua João de Deus.
