From Vila Real, head to the bus terminal located at Rua da Alegria. Take the bus heading towards Montalegre. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Montalegre, get off at the main bus stop. From the bus stop, head northeast on Avenida da Liberdade for about 200 meters until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Rua de São Sebastião and continue for approximately 1 kilometer. You will see signs for 'Ponte da Misarela'. Follow the signs and walk for another 1.5 kilometers until you arrive at the bridge.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Vila Real to Ponte da Misarela. Head to the nearest taxi stand located at Praça do Município. Inform the driver that you want to go to 'Ponte da Misarela' in Montalegre. The drive will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the taxi can drop you off at the entrance to the bridge area.
