Getting There

  • Bus

    From central Arecibo, head to the nearest bus stop which is located on Calle San Francisco. Look for the buses heading towards Isabela. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you are going to Shacks Beach. The bus will take you along PR-2. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at Isabela. Get off at the stop closest to PR-326. From there, walk towards the beach, which is about a 10-minute walk. You will see signs pointing towards Shacks Beach.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Arecibo. Simply find a taxi stand or ask your hotel to call one for you. Provide the driver with the address: 326 PR, Isabela, 00662. The ride will take approximately 25 minutes, depending on traffic. You will be dropped off right near the entrance to Shacks Beach.

  • Walking

    If you are feeling adventurous and are staying in Isabela, you can walk to Shacks Beach. Start from the main plaza in Isabela and head north on Calle José de Diego. Continue straight until you reach PR-2, then turn left. Follow PR-2 until you see the signs for Shacks Beach on PR-326. The walk will take about 40-50 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
