Bus
From your location in Carolina, walk to the nearest bus stop that serves the 'Carolina - Fajardo' route. Look for the bus number that indicates it goes to Fajardo. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride for about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you reach Fajardo, ask the driver to let you know when you arrive at the Fajardo Ferry Terminal. After disembarking, follow the signs to the ferry that goes to Cayo Icacos. Purchase your ferry tickets and board the boat; the ride to Cayo Icacos takes about 30 minutes.
Taxi/Shared Ride
If you prefer a quicker and more direct route, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app. Open the app and set your destination to 'Fajardo Ferry Terminal'. The drive should take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the terminal, purchase your ferry tickets to Cayo Icacos and board the ferry for a 30-minute ride to the island.
Walking to Bus Terminal
If you feel adventurous and want to enjoy some local sights, you can walk to the main bus terminal in Carolina. From the terminal, catch the bus that goes to Fajardo. The bus ride will take about an hour. After arriving in Fajardo, head to the ferry terminal, buy your tickets, and board the ferry to Cayo Icacos. This option allows you to interact with locals and see more of the area, but be prepared for a longer overall travel time.
