Getting There

  • Car

    From El Yunque National Forest, take Route 191 south until you reach Route 3. Turn left onto Route 3 and continue west. Merge onto Route 26 towards San Juan. Take exit 6 to merge onto Route 1 toward Caguas/San Juan. Continue on Route 1 and take exit 6B for PR-25 toward Hato Rey. Follow signs for Hato Rey Norte. Once in Hato Rey, follow the signs to the Caño Martín Peña Natural Reserve located at CWPF+X3C, San Juan, 00918. There is no entrance fee for the reserve, but be mindful of parking regulations in the area.

  • Public Transportation

    From El Yunque National Forest, take the public bus (AMA) to the nearest bus station. Depending on your location in El Yunque, you might need to first take a taxi to reach the bus stop. Once at the bus station, take the bus to San Juan. Upon arriving in San Juan, transfer to Bus Route 21 or 22, which will take you to Hato Rey Norte. Get off at the stop closest to CWPF+X3C. From there, it’s a short walk to the Caño Martín Peña Natural Reserve. Be sure to check the bus schedule as it can vary, and there may be a small fare for each bus ride.
