Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the main square in Guánica, known as Plaza de Guánica, located at Calle Pedro B. Salas. Head southwest on Calle Pedro B. Salas towards Calle José de Diego. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 333. Turn right onto Route 333. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views of the coastline. Keep an eye out for a sign indicating Fuerte Caprón on your left. Once you see the sign, take the small path leading up to the fortress. It’s a short hike uphill, so wear comfortable shoes.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Guánica. Start at the main square, Plaza de Guánica, and cycle southwest on Calle Pedro B. Salas towards Calle José de Diego. Continue straight to Route 333, where you will turn right. Cycle along Route 333 for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for the sign for Fuerte Caprón on your left. There is a small path leading to the fortress; it’s a steep ascent, so be prepared for a bit of effort. Lock your bike at the entrance before exploring the site.

• Public Transport

  From the main square in Guánica, take a local 'guagua' (public minibus) heading towards the coastal areas. Inform the driver that you want to visit Fuerte Caprón. The driver will let you off near Route 333. From there, walk about 1.5 kilometers along Route 333, keeping an eye out for the sign for Fuerte Caprón on your left. Follow the path up to the fortress. Be sure to check the schedule of the guaguas for your return trip.
