Walking
From the center of Luquillo, head northeast on PR-3 towards Fajardo. Continue straight on PR-3 for about 3.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Carr. 987. Turn right onto Carr. 987 and continue for approximately 2 miles. Look for the signs directing you to Reserva Natural Cabezas de San Juan, and keep an eye out for the Pirate Snorkeling Shack, which is located at Carr. 987 Km 5.9 on your left.

Public Bus
Locate the nearest bus stop in Luquillo, where you can catch the public bus (T-5 route) heading towards Fajardo. Make sure to inform the driver that you are going to Reserva Natural Cabezas de San Juan. The bus will take you along PR-3, and you will need to get off at the Carr. 987 stop. From there, walk about 2 miles along Carr. 987, following the signs to the reserve, until you reach the Pirate Snorkeling Shack at Km 5.9.
