Walking
If you are starting from the Vieques Ferry Terminal in Isabel Segunda, walk south towards Calle Carlos A. Chardon. Continue straight onto PR-201, which leads you towards the southern part of the island. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with PR-202. Turn left onto PR-202 and continue for another 1.5 miles. As you approach Puerto Ferro, look for local signs directing you to Monte Carmelo, which is located at 4HR9+23G. The path may become less defined, so be sure to ask locals for assistance if needed.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle in Isabel Segunda, which is a popular option for getting around Vieques. Head south from the ferry terminal along PR-201. After approximately 1.5 miles, turn left onto PR-202. Continue on PR-202, cycling for about 1.5 miles until you reach Puerto Ferro. Look for signs pointing to Monte Carmelo, located at 4HR9+23G. The ride is scenic, but be cautious of traffic and road conditions.

Public Transport
While Vieques does not have a formal public transport system, you can use local 'guaguas' (shared taxis) to get close to Monte Carmelo. From Isabel Segunda, find a guagua heading towards the southern beaches. Ask the driver to drop you off at Puerto Ferro or the nearest stop to 4HR9+23G. From there, you may need to walk a short distance, so have a map or GPS on hand to guide you to Monte Carmelo.

Walking from a Local Beach
If you are at Playa La Chava, start by walking north along the beach to the main road (PR-202). Once you reach the road, turn left and walk for about half a mile until you see signs for Monte Carmelo. Follow these signs, which will lead you through local paths to the historical landmark. The walk is about 1 mile in total from the beach.
