Car
If you are driving from the West Region, take Route 2 (PR-2) heading east. Continue on PR-2 until you reach the intersection with PR-22. Merge onto PR-22 and follow the signs for San Juan. After about 50 miles, take exit 7A toward Caguas/PR-1. Continue on PR-1 for approximately 15 miles, then take exit 11 toward PR-26. Follow PR-26 until you reach the San Juan area. Look for the signs directing you to El Morro, which is located in the Old San Juan area. You can park at the nearby parking lots for a fee, which typically costs around $5-$10 for a few hours.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from your location in the West Region to the San Juan area. The 'AMA' (Autoridad Metropolitana de Autobuses) offers several routes that connect to San Juan. Once you arrive in San Juan, you can take the 'trolley' system that operates in Old San Juan. Look for the trolley stops that lead to El Morro; the stop is called 'El Morro.' The bus fare is usually around $2, and the trolley is free of charge. Make sure to check the schedules in advance, as they may vary.
Use El Morro as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
