Getting There

• Public Bus

  Start your journey at Al Khor City Centre. Look for the public bus stop. Take the bus that heads towards Al Thakhira. The fare is generally affordable, and the buses run frequently. Inform the bus driver that you are going to Al Thakhira; they will let you know when you arrive. Once you reach Al Thakhira, you can find local taxis or ride-sharing options to take you closer to Purple Island Beach, located at MGVW+RR5.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer a more active option, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Al Khor. Head towards the Al Khor Corniche and follow the waterfront road toward Al Thakhira. The ride is approximately 10 km and offers scenic views. Once you reach Al Thakhira, you will need to park your bicycle and take a local taxi to the beach area, MGVW+RR5.

• Walking

  For the adventurous, you can walk from central Al Khor to Purple Island Beach. Start at Al Khor Corniche and follow the path leading east. This route is approximately 12 km, so it’s best to start early in the morning to avoid the heat. Walk towards Al Thakhira, and upon reaching the area, ask locals for directions to MGVW+RR5. Note that it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.

• Taxi

  From any point in Al Khor, you can hail a taxi to take you to Purple Island Beach. Simply provide the driver with the location details: MGVW+RR5. Taxis are widely available, and the ride should be relatively quick, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting the journey.
