If you're driving to The Elms from anywhere in Block Island, you will first need to take the ferry back to the mainland in Point Judith, Rhode Island. Once you arrive at Point Judith, take Route 1 North toward Narragansett. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 15 miles, then take the exit for Route 138 East toward Newport. Follow Route 138 until you reach the Newport area. Once in Newport, turn onto Bellevue Avenue, and The Elms will be located at 367 Bellevue Ave on your right.
Public Transportation
To reach The Elms using public transportation from Block Island, begin by taking the ferry back to Point Judith. Once you arrive at Point Judith, board the RIPTA bus #14 heading toward Newport. The bus will take you directly to Newport. Once in Newport, you can either walk or take a taxi to Bellevue Avenue. The Elms is located at 367 Bellevue Ave, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop.
