Getting There

Car

If you're driving from Warwick, take I-95 S towards New York City. After about 10 miles, take exit 3A to merge onto I-295 S toward Narragansett. Continue on I-295 S for about 7 miles, then take exit 1A to merge onto US-1 S. Follow US-1 S for about 12 miles until you reach the intersection with RI-138 E. Take RI-138 E and continue for about 10 miles. Merge onto RI-238 S which will lead you into Newport. Follow the signs for Fort Adams State Park. The park entrance will be on your right at 80 Fort Adams Dr.
Public Transportation

To reach Fort Adams State Park via public transportation, start at the Warwick Train Station. Take the MBTA train towards Boston and get off at the Kingston Station. From there, transfer to the RIPTA bus #14 (Newport/Kent) towards Newport. The bus will take you directly to Newport, where you can disembark at the Newport Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center, it is about a 15-minute walk to Fort Adams State Park. Head southwest on America's Cup Avenue, then turn right on Fort Adams Drive. The park entrance will be on your left.
Car

If you're coming from Providence, take I-195 E towards Cape Cod. Merge onto I-95 S and follow for about 18 miles. Take exit 27 to merge onto RI-4 S toward North Kingstown. This will turn into RI-1 S. Continue on RI-1 S for approximately 20 miles. Take the exit for RI-138 E towards Newport. Once you arrive in Newport, follow the directions to Fort Adams State Park on Fort Adams Dr, which will be on your right hand side.
